Pug-Pug the Pug

March 2, 2012

Meet Pug-Pug, a sweet, affectionate, and exceptionally smart little Pug.

When Pug-Pug’s humans Tony and Elo Quiambao first contacted me several weeks ago, they mentioned that they were expecting their first child next month. Immediately, I knew our session would be special. And it truly was, just to have the privilege of photographing little Pug-Pug, their furry baby of 6-years, capturing snippets of their life together with him, and helping them tell a story that they hope to share with their child/ children one day. Here’s a little sneak-peek of our shoot…

Our photo session began with his usual morning stroll. (Fun Fact: Pug-Pug doesn’t like the grass very much and will refuse to sit on it. Apparently, he doesn’t like to get dirty. Hahaha! He’ll take the pavement anytime though)

Pug-Pug takes a little break in the shade. (Fun Fact: Pug-Pug does not only sit, shake hands, or lie down on command, but he can also make “mano”, raise his paw when he hears his name in a roll call, and lie down paws-up and remain there frozen like a statue for a good number of seconds. Hilarious!)

After his morning walk, Pug-Pug has his breakfast. (Fun Fact: Pug-Pug listens attentively, and does so mostly to his Mommy. Haha! He knows how to wait and will do anything for food. Because he’s allergic to all kinds of meat, his diet consists only of prescribed dog food plus fresh fruits and boiled vegetables.)

After breakfast, Pug-Pug gets some cuddle time. (Fun Fact: Pug-Pug’s favorite spot at home is on the rocking chair in his parents’ bedroom. It’s his very own sleeping spot.)

Smile, Pug-Pug!

Thank you so much Tony and Elo for a wonderful shoot! I enjoyed every minute of it!

Multum In Parvo

January 11, 2012

The latin phrase “multum in parvo”, which means “much in little”, is often used to describe Pugs. This is perhaps because pugs have a whole lot of personality packed into such a small body.

Roxanne Lee, pet parent to five delightful pugs, knows this fully well.

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of photographing Roxanne and her pugs Wagyu, Truffles, Chego, Duchess and Diana, together with her nephew Cole, 10, and her nieces Didi, 8, and Hannah, 6. Here are just a few sneak-peek photos from our session.

Thank you Roxanne for a pugtastic morning with your family! I hope you enjoyed the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.

New Year Thought Bubble: How appropriate that this pug shoot capped off the year for PPBD. 2011 was to me truly a year of “much in little”… with “much” blessings poured into this “little” life of mine.

Thank you, God. You are really so good and so faithful.

May 2012 be to all of us a year of “much in little”… and so much more! Happy New Year!

Dogs Day Out!

October 8, 2011

The rain last Saturday sure didn’t stop the dogs from getting their “day out” at the mall. I was thrilled to see so many new faces, furry and not so, at Alabang Town Center’s “Dogs Day Out” event. Here are a few that caught my attention…

This little fella made my day! Pugs are the funniest!

Now this Golden pup and “Official Angry Bird Addict” I simply wanted to gobble up! Sooo cuuute!!!

This Shih Tzu caught everyones attention when she and her six other siblings arrived. They all had their hair grown out really long and neatly sectioned with multi-colored bands. I didn’t get to take a complete group photo though. (Fail!) So you’ll just have to take my word for it. Haha!

Check out this curious one. She’s an Italian Greyhound. This long and slender babe drew quite a crowd.

Naturally, the larger dogs did too…

I almost missed this little Daschund, looking snug and satisfied in her carrier as she watched the all the hullaballoo around her.

Ahhh… then… in the middle of it all… was Yorkie love! Adorable and “loyal” McCoy seemed smitten and head over paws in love with…

… lovely little Bella! He couldn’t take his eyes (and nose) off her. Well, who could blame him? What a pretty, pretty girl!

I thought the most interesting that day though was this Bull Terrier. Cool, huh?

For more canine cuteness, check out the rest of the event photos in this album on my Facebook Page! By the way, thank you sooo much to everyone who dropped by my exhibit last Saturday! And thank you ATC for having me!

It was “Dogs Day Out” last Sunday at Alabang Town Center. The sun was out and the Town Plaza of ATC was packed (and I mean packed!) with people and their furry four-legged pals — the perfect opportunity for some “puparazzi” fun!

While some doggies and their humans were busy checking out the various booths or participating in a game, others were getting ready for what seemed to me like the most sought-after activity of the day — the amusing doggie fashion shows that culminated the event that afternoon.

While I don’t consider myself a die-hard fan of doggie couture and the like, one thing I do appreciate very much about pet events like this is that it helps bring pets and people together. And that’s always a fun thing! So thanks, ATC!

Here are photos of some of the adorable doggies I met:

Meet pretty Ashley, a 2-year old Cocker Spaniel getting all dolled up for her walk down the runway.

A sure head-turner that day was this Saint Bernard whom for the sake of my 7-year old son I will refer to here as “B.

Check out this absolutely darling 5-month-old Yorkie and Allie Canine Couture model named Bono. Bono, what cute and perky ears you have!

Don’t let this sweet little 3-month-old face fool you. Bruno is one fearless, feisty Chihuahua! Isn’t that right, Bruno?!

Guess who else was at ATC! Chiquita, the pretty little Chihuahua I met at Bonifacio High Street in February. I was so happy to run into her again backstage for the Baby Moon Pawprints fashion show! Thank you to her mom, Cheryl, for letting me snap a couple of pics. Hope to see you again soon Chiquita!

Meet Dumbo, a dashing 5-year old Golden Retriever.

Edge is a lovely brown Lab I met backstage whose owner, Patricia Carrascoso of the Labrador Retriever Owners Club and Pets for Peace: An Initiative of Ang Komunidad Para Sa Ikauunlad ng Tao, helped organize the event. So happy to meet you, Edge!

Say hi to 4-year-old Chow Chow, Ginger! I met this cute and cuddly teddy bear of a dog right as she came in to register.

Love, love, Lola! Pretty, pretty Schnauzer, Lola!

Lord Seth is a 2-month-old and bi-eyed Siberian Husky. So beautiful!

Meet Lucky, cute and friendly 5-month-old Beagle pup and pet of Veia, one of the event coordinators for the day.

Martha’s mom warned me not to get too close. Apparently, this 2-year-old Daschund isn’t too comfortable around other people. And there were definitely a lot of people that day! It’s okay, Martha! You’ll get used to it soon.

Adorable Moshi, modeling for Baby Moon Pawprints collection.

Also modeling for Baby Moon Pawprints that day was one of Willa Tecson’s gorgeous black Labradors, Negra, eagerly waiting to strut her stuff on stage.

I think pugs are one of the cutest and funniest breeds! O.J. is 1.5 years old with a face that is totally pug-tastic!

Now who is this pretty little Terrier and Allie Canine Couture model striking a pose for the camera? It’s 2-year old Oreo! So feminine and flirty! Love it!

Petunia is a 6-year-old Chihuahua and amazing momma to 4 pups that she delivered via c-section. Way to go, Petunia! What a strong momma you are! It must help when you have a wonderful human like Irene who I can tell loves you a lot.

Ryu is a funny, scruffy 3-year-old Mini Schnauzer who has a vendetta against large dogs. He barked at every single one that walked by him. Funny Ryu!

No, he’s not the edible kind! Spam is a spunky 8-month-old Chihuahua.

Twinkle is Spam’s mom. She’s 2-years-old, an Allie Canine Couture model, and a proud momma of 3 pups – Spam, Shammy and Shiomi. Group hug everyone!

Congratulations to Alabang Town Center and to all the sponsors and organizers for a successful event! To all the pet moms and dads I met that day… it was a pleasure meeting all of you! Enjoy your photos!
