Merry CHRISTmas!

From our family to yours…

“And there, in the stable, amongst the chickens and the donkeys and the cows, in the quiet of the night, God gave the world his wonderful gift. The baby that would change the world was born. His baby Son.
“Mary and Joseph wrapped him up to keep him warm. They made a soft bed of straw and used the animals’ feeding trough as his cradle. And they gazed in wonder at God’s Great Gift, wrapped in swaddling clothes, and lying in a manger.
“Mary and Joseph named him Jesus, ‘Emmanuel’ – which means ‘God has come to live with us.’ Because, of course, he had.”

Introducing Edward the Bumblebee!

Untitled

A few blocks away from where we live sits this sad, old, rusty, run-down car. It has been sitting there for years, neglected, abandoned, left to rot in the rubble. I thought it would serve as an interesting (and ironic) backdrop for Edward.

Aww… don’t you just love that big, beautiful smile?

Thought Bubble: This tired, dilapidated, junk-pile of a car reminds me of my life without God in it – ugly, broken and useless. Thank you God for coming into my world, for giving me beauty for ashes, for giving me your Son, Jesus. Indeed He is better.
Beauty for ashes
A garment of praise for my heaviness
Beauty for ashes
Take this heart of stone and make it Yours, Yours
I delight myself in the Richest of Fare
Trading all that I have for all that is better
A garment of praise for my heaviness
You are the greatest taste
You’re the Richest of Fare
You are better, so much better.
